The theme that ties all testimonials together is community – it is not about just investing in their own child, they’re invested in supporting the LDC community as a whole. Why I Invest
When I joined the LDC Community we were in the middle of the pandemic. My son spent his first year of elementary school learning from his bedroom instead of being in a classroom. What he and our family learned and experienced during this time was the LDC community is one of a kind. It’s full of amazing teachers and staff who give more than they are expected on a regular basis and continue to do daily.
When I joined the PTO during our second year at LDC I was shocked to learn of all the things the money we raise were covering to make our community so unique – copy machines, interventionists, teachers classroom needs and on a larger scale equipment to keep our classrooms up to date like the promethium boards. I would have never expected some of these things to not be included in our school budget. But since they aren’t we look to the community to help raise money to keep these things going.
As we are in the season of giving, I would ask that if you have not done so already to please consider donating to the Invest! Any amount you can give is helpful! We have smaller fundraisers throughout the year but this one is the largest and with it we are able to keep doing all the ordinary and extraordinary things that make Lockeland special.

Why I Invest
Today, on Giving Tuesday, I am thinking a lot about what is really important to me and my family. There are so many ways we can spend our money, and one that I’d like for you to consider is Lockeland’s PTO. You’ve, hopefully, seen the letters we’ve sent home letting you know how money from the Invest campaign will be spent. Those are all good reasons to support the PTO. I’d like to take a moment to share why I personally Invest in LDC.
As the mom of a LDC graduate, an LDC 3rd grader, and a future LDC student, I have been and will be part of the Lockeland community for a long time. I’ve watched my kids grow tremendously at LDC. I’ve had some amazing teachers in my home for an entire school year (via zoom) and watched as they worked so hard to keep my kids connected and thriving through virtual school (special shoutout to Mrs Boles and Mrs Kessler). I’ve seen the support and care that the teachers, admin, and staff pour into our kids each day.
It’s exciting to be part of a community that has and continues to work so hard to help help our kids grow and is being recognized for that effort.
