Art Club
Art Clubs at Lockeland Design Center
Presented by the Little Art House Foundation
Young artists are invited to come imagine new places, explore various mediums, and create fun works of art with an instructor from the Little Art House Foundation!

Ukulele Club
Ukulele Sprouts Club
Presented by the Nashville School of Traditional Country Music
Ukulele Sprouts Club introduces all of the fundamentals of playing stringed instruments using the best kids’ instrument ever – the ukulele! No previous musical experience is required.
In Ukulele Sprouts, we use games, rhythm exercises, and traditional & original folk songs created on the uke to add essential motor skills seamlessly. We also teach by ear – no practice book necessary… all you need is the ukulele!
This class, designed for beginners, is an effortless way for your child to become musically fluent in a short amount of time.

Aikido Club
(Presented by the Nashville Aikikai Youth & Family program)
Aikido is a powerful martial art, known as “the art of peace.” We don’t try to harm an attacker with a punch or kick. Instead, we protect ourselves by using an attacker’s energy against them. Students will learn how to “move to safety,” how to neutralize an attack, and how to keep a positive attitude no matter what other people are saying or doing. In addition to a variety of self-defense skills, students will also learn how to stay relaxed and fall gently.

Calling all young minds with a passion for strategy and fun! Join our exciting After-School Chess Club and embark on an incredible journey through the world of kings, queens, knights, and pawns. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting started, there’s a place for everyone at our chess tables!

Yoga Club
Led by yoga teacher and yoga therapist, Sarah Jane Chapman.
In these classes, we will practice movement and mindfulness through games and exercises. Your children will grow in their confidence and trust in their bodies.

Running Club
Running Club is designed to promote physical activity in our kids and get them excited about pursuing a healthy lifestyle. This program will focus on exercise through running or walking, healthy lifestyle choices, and setting and achieving goals.
After school, students will be dismissed directly to the LDC Running Club staging area.
Pick up is at the back of the school and is walk-up only (NO CARS).
Guardian must sign their child out daily before they are released for dismissal.
We respectfully ask that no students use the track and field area for free play or other sports activities during running club time.
Weather Cancelations will be communicated no later than 9am on Running Club days.

Registration will be open Monday, March 3rd through Friday, March 7th
All students must complete the form and return it to their teacher by Friday, March 7th
Parents must fill out both sides of the form including the medical release form on the back of this paper.
If your child is on the fence about running, go ahead and sign up. It’s easier to have an extra name on the roster than add students after the rosters have been created.
