By providing resources, organizing events, and building school spirit, we help support LDC’s enriching environment where every lion can thrive and achieve their fullest potential.

Student Support
We work closely with LDC's Principal and staff to identify needs and determine how the PTO can provide the most impactful support for our students each year.
School Support
We work to fill the gap between MNPS budget constraints and the resources and tools students and teachers need the most to feel supported and succeed.
Family Engagement
By providing opportunities that strengthen our sense of community, we increase family support, which is essential to the success of public schools like LDC.
Academic Impact
Hiring Math + Reading Specialists
To foster an inclusive learning climate and support diverse learning needs, the PTO has fundraised to hire and retain invaluable reading and math interventionists. These specialists help dozens of LDC students build their skills and confidence by being supported intellectually and academically. They also help free up the grade level teachers, which in turn benefits all Lockeland students.
School impact
LDC Technology + Supplies
From buying LDC’s first color printer to providing each teacher with a budget for supplies, we help obtain essential school resources while showing our most important resource – our LDC teachers – the appreciation they deserve.
Community impact
Family Events
The PTO hosts several events each year for families to come together – from taking over booths at Top Golf and relaxing at our fall Family Movie Night to showing school spirit at Rivergate Skate and getting to know parents and teachers through Parents Night Out, our events reinforce the power of family involvement and the uniqueness of our community.
